Greer Upstate Recreational Hockey Association (GURHA) will host games at The Ice Station, the region’s newest private ice rink located at 211 School Street in downtown Greer, SC.
The former warehouse has been transformed into an indoor and outdoor (land and ice) full-service facility and serves as the home ice rink for GURHA’s adult recreational hockey league in the Greer and Greenville, SC area. The facility features an indoor ice rink, a spectating area, a pro shop, locker rooms, an outdoor patio, a grilling area, synthetic ice outside, and a lobby with seating and flat-screen TVs.
The rink is also undergoing renovations to enlarge the ice surface, add locker rooms, showers, upper spectator’s viewing area and parking.
The Ice Station is also within walking distance of Greer’s finest restaurants, a brewery, coffee shops, bars and the city’s public park with fountains, playgrounds and a beautiful lake with a gazebo.
The hockey ice rink facility is also just 10 minutes from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP). Greer is a growing city, recently completing a major streetscape project. The $10.8 million project included the installation of new streetlamps, repaving and new sidewalks. A new hotel has been built with an attached parking garage and new townhomes are located just a few blocks from the rink. Although the city is easily walkable, a street shuttle is available for easier navigability from one end of the city to the other.
Enjoy concerts, tours, street festivals, great restaurants, lively bars, shopping, and now ice hockey, in downtown Greer, SC!
